The Project has finally started and the Chassis is in the assembly hall ready to be worked on.
The Renderings
Today we got great news from the Factory, not only has our Chassis arrived, but the Designer Team finished the Renderings and have passed them on to the Fabricators to start with the interior.
The Exterior shell, or box, is a standardised design and all components are prefabricated in-house already. So the Box is being constructed parallel to the Chassis fit out and the interior.
Eventually all is assembled into one nice Vehicle called the Monté.
To a certain degree, we had a say in how we wanted the interior to look and feel. We have chosen that the space over the Cab will be a bed (180 cm x 130 cm) with hidden storage underneath, and the right hand side couch will be a bed as well. (187.5 cm x 90 cm)
This configuration allows either of us to move around while the other one is working or sleeping and access the toilet and showers or the exit door.
We also tried to maximise the storage inside since we will eventually live in the Vehicle full time.
The Table is a free standing unit that can be folded away in a cabinet space on the left side by the door. This allows you to take it outside if you like or stow it away completely when not needed.
The Kitchenette has a Zink and Faucet, a 109 litre Fridge/Freezer, an induction plate and a small oven that can be moved outside if needed.
The Chassis
The Chassis is a Mitsubishi Triton Single Cab 4x4 with an extended and modified frame. It will be custom modified according to Customer preference. In our case, a complete suspension system from IRONMAN inclusive Airbags on the rear axle. We also change the wheels and the tires to more off-road capable ones. (BFGoodrich AllTerrain A/T)
The front will be protected by a Front Bull Bar and a 9'000 lbs winch will help us out of any situation. A snorkel will ensure the engine always gets clean dry air. and auxiliary LED lights will illuminate the night. All this as well from IRONMAN.
We are so excited to see our new home being build and can't wait to go try it out. We will of course share with you much more pictures and videos about the building process.
What is happening next.
Next we will be ordering all the stuff we additionally need for the new home. We will then bring it all to the factory to be installed and included.
At the same time we will get familiar with the installation and the vehicle and off course will take lots of pictures and videos for you to enjoy.
The exact delivery date is not set yet but it will be definitely not December.
